| 5th Wheel TIPS |
| WE ARE IN THE PROCESS OF REVAMPING THE ENTIRE WEB SITE INCLUDING TECH TIPS |
- I recommend Michelin XPS Ribs tires for 5th wheels as they are a steel jacketed type tire Load E tires and I always keep them @ 80 psi COLD. TIP (USE WHEEL COVERS WHEN NOT IN USE)
- I use Metal Stems on every tire from the 5th Wheel to the Tow Vehicle they hold up better to the punishment of RVing. TIP ( USE NITROGEN INSTEAD OF AIR TO INFLATE YOUR TIRES)
- I also recommend the glass mat batteries . I use OPTIMA batteries Blue Top (Deep Cycle Marine) if you are a member of COSTCO they sell there for just under $150 a piece. You'll have no worries about water levels gas escaping as in regular batteries and the positive terminal will not corrode. They have higher power per battery and perform much better during extremely hot conditions. I have had mine for over 2 years and conventional batteries get wiped out by only one Arizona summer. I even have a red top for my truck and have had superior results. Want more infomation? http://www.optimabatteries.com
- I carry a spare Shoreline (the 115V cable between the coach and the campsite power) It has a twist lock conne
ctor on one end and 30 Amp plug on the other. ALFA only has 50 amp 5th Wheels now and its very difficult to get the twist lock connector.
- Have a wall clock that keeps falling down during your trip? Do you get the wrong time see the link to the left for more infomation.
- Every 2 years in the heat and sun of Arizona its a neccesity to re-caulk the roof use self leveling caulk from a RV store. I always peel off the old before applying the new.
- Do you have yellowing plastic on your RV. I have found painting it stop the rapid deteration of these parts and keeps that white and new like condition.
