SCOTTSDALE, ARIZONA

ARIZONA ADVENTURES

GRAND CANYON

For the last 40 years, Scottsdale has been one of the most visited cities of the greater Phoenix area and a popular place to live and work. Scottsdale is known for it's "western" flavor and interesting art shops. A "not to miss" spot is Old Town Scottsdale. The actual "Old Town" section of Scottsdale is located at the intersection of Main Street and Scottsdale Road. To the west are shops and shops of fine art Galleries. Walking up Main Street to the easy, you will find the typical souvenir shops as well as a "Long Branch" type saloon where you can "wet your whistle" on a hot, Arizona day. This saloon is called, The Rusty Spur and if you are lucky, you may visit on a day when you may see a cowboy with a guitar ride his horse right inside the saloon to sing his songs. Just be careful where you step! After you have finished walking through the shops and art areas, take a walk in the Scottsdale Mall area. The mall is a lovely park that houses a small "original schoolhouse" museum and several city offices. Peaceful fountains, streams, bridges and winding walkways make the walk a peaceful and relaxing event. The mall is now the home of the Scottsdale city government and the Scottsdale Center for the Arts. See the love sculpture in the mall park copied after the one in Philadelphia.
