I have been a lot of places that claimed to have a black sand beach but I finally found a true black sand beach. Its located on the southern side of island just west of the Hawaii state route 11 Volcanoes National Park entrance. This is a wonderfully beautiful place. Please enjoy our pictures below and remember if you visit here by law you can not remove sand from the this beach. Since the late 1980's this is the best black sand beach on the Big Island. Unfortunately the beach that was better is now under 75 feet of lava. |
